Gospel Tracts are effective? YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING?
Kirk and his friend Ray were back againt his week. This episode they spent the whole half an hour on the "effective" use of gospel tracts. Holy crap, these guys can't be serious. Has a tract ever been effective in helping anyone in becoming a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ?
During the episode, they constantly tried to hit home the fact that gospel tracts are a great way to, "break the ice." Am I just dumb? If you have to use a tract to break the ice with someone, let's just be blunt, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SHARE ANYTHING ABOUT JESUS WITH ANYONE!
If you aren't strong enough in your faith (what ever that faith may be), to be willing to put your personal relationships on the line, you should be worrying about your own faith, not that of others.
There is nothing effective about tracts. They are not a magic bullet that releases you of the responsibility in sharing your own story. I would wager that no one that comes to this site and hears this challenge could come up with proof that tracts are effective. I'll give $100 to the first person that can comment to this posting with evidence that a tract has ever effectively helped someone in becoming a fully devoted follower of Jesus. Serously, $100! Let the games begin.
P.S. When asked by someone whom Ray was "sharing the Gospel", if he (Ray) was perfect, Ray replied, "Yes, I'm perfect. Perfect in Jesus Christ." UUUUHHHHHG!
Sometimes people say the dumbest things. So dumb in fact that it makes you want to throw down some Kung-Fu on their behinds. At some point I'm sure this blog will make you feel that way.

Okay for the 100 dollars. When we went to Sweden we used tracks to save people lives. They were super effective....okay I have to stop right there....I am lying...It was the dumbest thing I have ever done...It honestly is degrading to others of the same faith. It shows that you don't care and you have an easy way out to sharing the "good news". Sweden was a nice experience and I learned a lot about myself through the trip but I can't say that we used effective methods of evangalizing except for Viggo initially. Viggo was a guy that spent almost all week with us and I got to build a relationship with him. Nothing had to be pushed or shoved onto him, it was just nice to build a relationship. But then, a relationship was not good enough for my leader. She found out that he was Mormon so she took it upon herself to send him every anti-Mormon website she could find. I talked to him online and he was so hurt. I can't believe that this stuff even happens, it sounds so rediculous writing it out! so yeah, I am pretty sure you will be keeping that $100!
Virtual Gospel Tracks. It's gonna be a great day in evangelism hell when "Christians" can force RSS feed pages to other people. For now how ever we just have to deal with those annoying "forwards" that tell us how George Bush shared his faith with some kid while on the campaign trail. GAG!
I know 2 people who began the road to faith (and this hurts to even write) by reading a Chick Tract
I suppose you want $20 dollars for that?
Need more evidence than that.
I happened to stumble across Kirk the other day trying his feet out at Ray's expertise of street evangelism. I had never seen Kirk in this role, probably because I go into convulsions every time I accidentally see them on the tube, and then have to leave the room. Anyways, it was like watching a 13 year old boy make out with a girl for the first time. It was awkward and uncomfotable to watch as Kirk uncomfortably forced his faith on this dude. I was imagining Ray was just off camera giving a big thumbs up to Kirk as he stumbled along. Oh man, I hope their show gets cancelled soon, it is a painful reminder of what I used to think evangelism was.
Why you were wathcing it anyway sicko... for some twisted pleasure?!?
By the way, my entire family was saved by traks
you're right... no they weren't... but I will make it my mission to find ten people who were.
Where is our team going?
1. To be the Big Ten Champions?
2. To beat our biggest rival?
3. To another winning season?
4. To be the number one team in the nation?
5. To the Rose Bowl?
These football players might make up the number one team on the field, and be good in your sight, but in God's sight, the players are just like anybody else (sinners that need to be saved). (Rom. 3:10,23)
Really, there are only two places they (and the rest of the world) can go. Those who are saved will go to Heaven one day, and those that are not saved will end up in Hell.
The real question is not so much where the team is going, but where are you going-- Heaven or Hell?
You have a decision to Make, Friend.
Where do you want to spend eternity--Heaven or Hell? The bible says God "is not willing that any should perish" ( 2 Peter 3:9), and has made a way for you to go to Heaven.
To Go To Heaven, You Must:
1. Admit you are a sinner
2. Be willing to repent
3.Believe Christ died for your sin.
4. Put your complete faith in Jesus Christ, and call on HIm to save your soul.
note: ( I left out the scripture to go along with these, you get the point)
Hell is Hot! Jesus Saves! It is your decision
__I choose to trust Jesus Christ as my Savior (more scripture verses)
__I choose to reject Jesus and keep my way. (even more scripture)
Please send this tract to us to let us know that, after reading it you have decided to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, and we will send you some helpful literature. God Bless you.
Now if this changes your life, let me know, I have the address that I can send this track in. I basically kept it so when I am feeling low I can just read it and crack up...but yeah seriously if it changes your life I will be sure to send it in so you can receive more info, and I will make $100 off of it to so yeah, let me know! haha
well that was my study break, it was worth it, back to the books!
hedder~ if we can just change all that information from your silly college team to THE COLTS, I could use it around these parts.
haha....
Where is our team going?
1. to be #1 in our division?
2. To beat our biggest rival?
3. To another winning season?
4. To be the number one team in the nation?
5. To the Super bowl?
